A new app optimized to employ real-time face recognition technology dubbed Klik v1.0 has reached the Apple App Store. It includes ‘Face Filters,’ a new ‘comment’ and ‘like’ system along with a ‘Learn Mode.’

The latter can be especially useful while recognizing a specific person who’s not tagged in an image. Once potential users activate the ‘Learn Mode,’ they just have to point the camera of the phone to the image and an assortment of names will open up with confidence percentages. If the concerned person is not spotted on the list, the name can be manually entered into the app.

Along the lines of the tilt-shift feature most of us may be familiar with, this app provides access to a host of photo filters that facilitate a shallow depth of field. Some filters found in this camera app make the face gleam and are in sync with the other effects used in the image. The ‘Nearby’ feed that was being tested in the preliminary stage has been completely redesigned to provide a hassle-free browsing experience. The feeds allow users to have a look at all pictures of friends as well those in the public domain.

Photos spanning across the entire city and beyond can be witnessed as well. Moreover, the location of the pictures and the feeds of the people tagged in images can be accessed. Apart from the aforementioned features, photos of friends can be liked and commented on, with instant notifications reaching either parties involved. The Klik v1.0 app can be downloaded via iTunes.
