Those who want to pre-order Apple’s iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus before the release date on October 16 strikes, can now do so through major retail chains. The company hasn’t revealed the official price for the handsets yet, but rumors suggest it will start at Rs 62000 for the 16GB model.
Retail outlets are all set to offer finance schemes, EMI options and upgrade programs in order to appeal to consumers. The Mobile Store will begin taking orders for the Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus at Rs 2000 apiece on October 2. The pre-booking period ends on October 13. The devices can be bought on the night of October 15.
UniverCell Mobiles, a Chennai-based retail chain in South India, has also initiated the process of pre-booking. The store will additionally offer freebies like back cases and accessories during this period. The vendor claims to have received over 100 orders already, with the 64GB model of the iPhone 6S having proven itself to be the most popular unit.
Subhash Chandra, managing director of Bengaluru-based Sangeetha Mobiles, stated that his outlet has started taking orders for the smartphones at Rs 1000 each. He expects most current Apple users to upgrade to the new phones within the first month. The brand is hoping to sell over 12 lakh of its new handsets within the October – December period.

Sources have told the Economic Times that Apple has communicated the cost of the devices to people in the industry. According to them, the 16GB iPhone 6S will be valued at Rs 62000, the 64GB one for Rs 72000 and the 128GB unit at Rs 82000. They further believe the 16GB iPhone 6S Plus will go for Rs 72000 and the 64GB for Rs 82000.
