iPhone 5C drops down to $50 at Best Buy stores

The iPhone 5C that is supposed to be a colorful and less expensive version of the flagship 5S is available for an extremely affordable price of $50 at Best Buy. The retailer has introduced this offer for a limited time and those who really wish to take its advantage will have to purchase it by this Sunday.

Cult of Mac confirms that the deal is valid on the 16GB version of the iPhone 5C which is officially priced at $99. In case you have your eyes set on the 32GB model, you will have to forget about getting a discount as it continues to sell for $199. Same applies for the iPhone 5S which starts at $199.

Although the price has been reduced to half, you will end up paying the entire amount anyway, as the retailer will hand you a gift card worth $50 along with the device. And in order to make the most of the deal and get that card, you will have to walk into a brick-and-mortar Best Buy store. Online purchasing will not bring you this gift card.

And what’s more, the deal is not limited to the iOS 7 platform-based gadget. The reseller has extended it to the Samsung flagship Android smartphone, the Galaxy S4. It is priced at $199 and when a customer buys it, they will receive the aforementioned gift card.

One thing is pretty clear that Best Buy is trying to attract people towards the iPhone 5C and even the Samsung Galaxy S4 with the deal that has kicked off before the holiday season starts. Have these devices failed to impress people like everyone thought they would? What do you think is the reason behind introducing the offer?
