Intex has announced the launch of its latest flagship, the Aqua i7, which is the company’s first smartphone to arrive with a 1080p display. The device is said to be the successor of the i5 which was announced back in July with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a 5-inch qHD screen and a quad core processor. Also, it’s amongst the few smartphones from local manufacturers to employ a FHD panel.
The display on the Intex Aqua i7 spans 5 inches wide and is design with the OGS technology. Additionally, there’s a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass to enhance resistance against scratches. The front also plays host to a 5MP snapper, while the rear flaunts a 13MP camera with 1080p video recording. Having a 7.88mm slim form factor, the smartphone packs in a 1.5GHz quad core processor, 32GB storage, 2GB RAM and a 2000mAh battery which can deliver 7 hours of talktime or 220 hours of standby. There are dual SIM slots as well, and 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and HSPA+ connectivity options.
The company has loaded with Intex Aqua i7 with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and a host of software features. They include NQ Vault and NQ Security for enhanced protection, the My screen app which allows you to carry out 4 operations at the same time, Intex Cloud which delivers 5GB of free online storage and Look away that performs in a similar fashion as Samsung’s Smart Pause. The device also comes with support for 22 regional languages out of the box.
The Intex Aqua i7 will be available for purchase through retail outlets and the company’s own retails stores starting September 9. The device will retail for Rs 21,900 and it comes in color options of black and white. There are a few freebies bundled with the handset worth Rs. 5,500. They include a flip cover, screen guard and limited edition key chain amongst others.
