Intel India launches initiative to bring technology to education sector

Intel India is looking to further the goals of the Digital India initiative by announcing a new project aimed at improving the adoption of technology in the nation’s education system. It’s planning to achieve its targets by joining hands with several top device makers, digital education content creators and publishers, and education solution providers.

In a statement, Intel says the collaborations will pave the path towards building end-to-end solutions which promote the utilization of technology in schools across India. Debjani Ghosh, the company’s managing director in South Asia, asserts that the enterprise wants to work on creating a comprehensive ecosystem which will establish an affordable digital infrastructure in the country.

One of the first steps towards accomplishing this scenario is the release of its Intel Pentium Processor A1020 to its device manufacturer partners. The CPU supposedly helps save power. The brand claims it’s ideal for gadgets meant for running education-focused apps in semi-urban and rural regions.

Some of the firms which may be involved in the endeavor include Datamini, iBall, Acer, Micromax, Dell, HP and Lenovo. Other than the new chipset, Intel also plans to deploy management solutions for classrooms, schools, content and learning, in addition to managing student information systems.
