Instagram For iPhone

The Instagram app for the iPhone which released last year has been updated to version 2.0. The upgraded free photo sharing application allows users to share their pictures after applying various effects and filters.

The company claims that for the next version of the app, it has altered the base technology and thus introduced more features than basic filters and tilt-shift. The filters have become 200 times faster and enable users to take a photo and switch between within moments. Four more filter options namely Amaro, Rise, Hudson and Valencia come with this update. The company has collaborated with @colerise which is a popular Instagrammer to produce these new effects that transform regular pictures into vividly different snapshots.

Instant tilt-shift or selective blur has also been refreshed to work 100 times faster than before. Users are allowed to pinch, pan and rotate tilt-shift to give the pictures a rich depth of field. The update also brings along with it enhanced clarity and detail in every shot. The photo size has gone up from 612 x 612 to 1936 x 1936 on the iPhone 4 and 1536 x 1536 on the 3GS smartphone model.

Furthermore, the look of the app icon has also changed and users have the option of maintaining or removing borders from their photos. They are also enabled to rotate pictures within the camera with simple controls.

The Instagram app is capable of working on iPhone 4 and 3GS. It can be downloaded for free from the App Store.
