Inneractive: 61% Android app users are male and 59% of BlackBerry female

Inneractive Survey An infographic comparing app usage based on gender was recently released by mobile app ad agency, Inneractive. As per results of this survey, 61 percent of Android app users in the United States are male while 59 percent of BlackBerry apps are employed by females.

These results were collected after distributing ads across many platforms. Other mobile companies’ app usage by the two sexes was somewhat similar and the difference between them was most significant in Android and BlackBerry. Though this survey is only outlining app usage, it’s a good measure for determining which platform is more popular among which sex.

This infographic is based on the responses of people from 200 countries. It has found that while the fairer sex tends to employ entertainment, social and puzzle game apps, men seem to harbor a soft corner for apps in the sports, action and casino games sections. Although these results are not really showing extremes in behavior, it does outline certain tendencies of both genders as far as app usage is concerned.

Recently comScore had also conducted a study regarding usage of mobile platforms through its MobiLens service. It had discovered that two out of five smartphone users in the U.S. used the Android platform. The comScore study covered the feedback of almost 30,000 mobile phone users in the United States and even outlined details regarding the market share of various platforms.
