HTC Omega Leaked Image

Be it the Android or the Windows Phone 7 OS, HTC’s love for smartphones has always been depicted with its rapid roll out strategy and just before the company makes its next move, leaked images of the upcoming HTC Omega smartphone surfaced depicting the handsets possession on a front-facing camera and the updated Mango OS. Bringing in a blast from the past, it appears that the new device sports the traditional two shaded exteriors.

Based on the digging done by PocketNow, the handset is speculated to come equipped with the latest version of the Windows Phone 7 Mango operating system and will be powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 CPU and 512MB of RAM. Also, hooked onto the smartphone is an 8MP primary camera with LED flash.

The most noticeable feature found in the handset appears to be its front-facing camera which the company apparently left out from their previous releases like the HTC HD7 smartphone. Also, to make good use of it, there is a high possibility for the device to come compatible with the Skype video chat and calling service previously announced by Microsoft to feature in future mobile phones.

The HTC Omega smartphone is speculated to launch this September 1 where the company plans on unveiling some of the new devices they have hidden under the sheet and may most likely take on a new name ‘HTC Radar.’ Besides HTC, images of their upcoming Windows Phone 7 Mango-based handset also surfaced from Nokia.
