The Idea Smart 3G Wi-Fi dongle which has just been launched by the company in India has been targeted by it towards home users, SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) consumers and business professionals. At an affordable price tag that reads Rs 2199 it enables the connection of a total of 10 devices to it at a time.
The Idea Smart 3G Wi-Fi dongle bears a powerful Wi-Fi antenna which allows it to provide download speeds of up to 21.6Mbps and upload speeds of up to 5.76Mbps. Everything from a smartphone, a tablet, a laptop, a gaming device and a digital camera to a music player can be connected to it.
The Wi-Fi dongle will be made available by Idea only in 11 markets within the country where it has established its 3G network. These include states like Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Goa, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Users of the telecom service will be able to choose from the existing 3G plans which the company offers. These range from Rs 250 to Rs 1250.

Last month, Idea launched the latest in its series of affordable 3G-focused handsets in the form of the Idea ID 4000. This Android Jelly Bean-powered handset benefits from a 4-inch HVGA display, a dual core processor, a 3.2MP rear camera and 512MB of RAM. The ID 4000 has been priced at Rs 4999.
Coming back to the Idea Smart 3G Wi-Fi dongle, as we mentioned above, it will be seen retailing in India soon at a price of Rs 2199.
