Idea Aurus 4 gets listed on the official website for Rs 8,999

Idea Cellular has announced the launch of the Aurus 4, a 3G device that has already been listed on the official store and is available to purchase for a price that’s just under Rs 9,000. It goes without saying that the device has some really tough contenders to compete with in this particular category.

While a lot of devices have already graduated to quad core chipsets, this Idea smartphone continues to employ a dual core processor. The SoC ticks at a speed of 1.2GHz and relies on 512MB of RAM for maintaining smooth navigation. Its 4.5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen has a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and it is accompanied by some of the usual sensors. A 0.3MP camera also sits on the front surface of the phone.

On flipping it over, you will find a 5MP fixed focus snapper with flash for capturing decent-quality pictures and videos. There’s merely 4GB of hoarding space within the phone and considering that it is likely to be insufficient, the company has included a microSD card slot for an additional storage capacity of 32GB.

Moreover, the Android Jelly Bean 4.2-based device is compatible with both 2G and 3G networks and even has built-in Wi-Fi support for wireless internet via a hotspot. It boasts of dual SIM card slots and claims to cough up the juice for talk time of about 4 hours in the 3G mode. The other features of the handset include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS amongst others.

The Idea Aurus 4 is already up for grabs through the official website and can be purchased for Rs 8,999.
