Rumor has it that the Huawei Ascend P6 Google Edition is what the Chinese manufacturer may be sculpting at present. It looks like Huawei will be following the footsteps of Samsung as well as HTC and will soon be giving its recently announced smartphone a taste of the Nexus flavor.
There isn’t much to go by concerning the Huawei Ascend P6 Google Edition, except that Kevin Ho, the president at the company’s handset product division, confirmed this tidbit. So say the folks over at Pocket-lint have who claim to have received this information first-hand through a one-on-one briefing.
What’s interesting is that the same post has also mentioned the firm’s chairman, Richard Yu, denying even the possibility of the variant’s launch. From what can be gathered, Yu implied that users will be able to relate better with the Emotion UI which is found in the original model, claiming the interface to be far superior.
The smartphone that saw the crack of dawn this month itself can be seen pre-loaded with the latest version of Android Jelly Bean, while it relies on a quad core K3V2E processor to gain impetus. It flaunts a 4.7-inch in-cell LCD touch display, sharing room with which is a 5MP webcam that comes across as quite a generous addition. Speaking of camera, the flip side has been presented with an 8MP shutter which should be able to capture videos at full HD resolution.
As far as memory goes, users will be able to store content of up to 8GB internally, while they could trust the onboard microSD card slot to facilitate any further expansions of up to 32GB. In addition to this, 2GB of RAM and a 2,000mAh battery stand to be residents belonging under the roof.
With statements of both the officials running poles apart, it cannot be confirmed whether the Ascend P6 Google Edition is indeed in the works. But stay tuned to the space.
