Windows Phone 8-based HTC 8S release date pegged for November

Along with the 8X phone, the company has unveiled another member from its Windows Phone 8 lineup, the HTC 8S, which also has its release date pegged for November. This handset draws fuel from a Qualcomm S4 dual core processor operating at 1GHz.

The CPU is backed up by 512MB of RAM in addition to 4GB of internal memory for hoarding content. In case the storage capacity proves insufficient, users can always further expand it using the built-in microSD card slot. For browsing purposes, the smartphone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, while Bluetooth 2.1 and an in-built 3.5mm audio jack enable customers to pair up and connect external devices, respectively.

A 4-inch WVGA super LCD protect by a Corning Gorilla Glass coating, sits pretty on the front, while a 5MP camera is fixed to the rear. This AF snapper has an f2.8 35mm lens and LED flash, and it is capable of recording videos in 720p. The smartphone offers Beats Audio for enhancing the sound quality and a 1700mAh Li-poly battery for powering all the above mentioned components.

The company is yet to disclose the HTC 8S price details. However, as stated earlier, the handset’s release date has been set for November. Buyers will be able to pick it up via major carriers across the US including AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon as well as Europe and Asia Pacific. The device will be available drenched in hues of domino, fiesta red, Atlantic blue and high-rise gray.
