HTC partners with Tata Docomo to launch HTC ChaCha in India

As we catch a glimpse of the HTC ChaCha being unveiled at a press event held in Mumbai today, onlookers seem to instantly cheer at the phone’s dedicated Facebook button. The latter allows instant sharing of content with a single tap. One-touch accessibility to the Facebook service has been incorporated throughout the HTC Sense interface.

Apart from this feature, the device shows off a 2.6-inch touchscreen with a full QWERTY keypad. The bundle offer permits Tata Docomo 3G prepaid consumers to avail of 3GB free data that is valid for a period of 90 days. Alternatively, postpaid customers around all 3G circles are touted to receive 1GB free data every month. This offer stretches through 90 days.

Additionally, all 3G users will receive 3 hours of free Mobile TV inclusive of data access charges up to 90 days. As far as 2G is concerned, the Tata Docomo 2G prepaid customers will get 3GB free data and 300 Tata to Tata local calling for a span of 90 days. Postpaid users across all 2G circles are offered 100 minutes of Tata to Tata calling and 1GB free data every month for a period of 3 months.

The handset also embeds a 5MP camera with auto-focus and LED flash as well as a VGA front-facing camera. The exterior appears to have a tilt that integrates the keypad and display making it easier to view and type. Powered by the latest Android version, the gadget is designed to display Facebook updates right on the homescreen.

The HTC ChaCha carries a price tag of around Rs. 15,990 and is available across all HTC resale outlets in India.
