Slinking up the OS scale, the HTC Evo 3D and HTC Evo Design 4G will get ICS updates in early August. The exact rollout date has not received a mention as of now.

Just as seen with other devices, once the concerned handset is ready for the upgrade, a download notification is expected to be displayed. After the download process is done with, users will have to install the update. During the installation that will last for a few minutes, the phone’s functions are expected to be disabled. Once the process is over, the HTC member will be ready for use with the new OS.

“The wait is almost over for HTC Evo 3D and HTC Evo Design 4G customers! The Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, update will begin rolling out to users by early August. Stay tuned for exact dates,” states a post on the official Sprint blog.

Just as a reminder, owners of the aforesaid Evo handsets can welcome a refreshed and refined UI to make the mobile surfing experience intuitive. The sought after Face Unlock attribute will arrive built in with the upgrade. A reworked camera app that tags along a range of effects like posterize, vignette and more is included as well.

The integrated web browser allows syncing with Google Chrome bookmarks and enables access to complete desktop versions of the concerned websites. Besides, open tabs will be displayed in a new layout. Other attributes include a reformed Gmail app, Google+ integration and an improved virtual keyboard.

As we’ve already said, the HTC Evo 3D and HTC Evo Design 4G ICS updates are slated to arrive sometime in August.
