Apple iPhone 5 production kicks off

iPhone 5 Rumor

Rumor has it that the production of the Apple iPhone 5 has kick started with certain changes to its speculated design. One of its major tweaks is apparently the inclusion of glass in the device’s unibody form factor.

According to the Japan-based Mac blog, MacOtakara, the manufacturing process of the next generation iPhone is already being revved up. Compared to the images leaked in May, there seem to be some alterations to the iPhone’s familiar design, almost exactly as mentioned above. Though no official details on Apple’s next offering have been revealed, it is popularly referred to as the iPhone 5.

Earlier stories had pointed out that the new handset may sport a unibody chassis built over a dual tone, full metal design. Additionally, this rumored phone is said to carry a glass piece embedded between the device’s top and bottom backplate edges.

As compared to the iPhone 4 and 4S which were reinforced with Gorilla Glass on both the front and back panels, this entrant appears to be just partially encapsulated within the rugged material. The change is possibly due to the suggested increase to a 4-inch Retina display sporting a 16:9 aspect ratio.

As per a post on AppleInsider, the latest iPhone’s leaked pictures do not show off a previously talked about hole between the snapper and LED flash. Many had speculated it to be a microphone for video recording purposes. Nevertheless, the hole could be present, but may appear too small to be noticeable by the bare eyes.

Reports have cited that the smartphone’s launch will kick off sometime between September and November. Considering that there’s no official word attached to the Apple iPhone 5 release date, fans will simply need to keep the faith in Cupertino.
