HTC Desire might just get Gingerbread

HTC Desire Gingerbread Update

Users of a certain HTC phone may just want to hold on before adopting the ‘promises are meant to be broken’ stance. The company has proclaimed that the HTC Desire handset may run Gingerbread since the engineers have decided to keep working towards it.

The latest update on the company’s UK Facebook page reads ‘Contrary to what we said earlier, we are going to bring Gingerbread to HTC Desire’. The challenge for HTC is to upgrade to an Android 2.3 version that would rub along nicely with the HTC Sense interface. This comes after a horde of less-than-happy responses to a previous post stating the update would not be possible.

HTC Desire users have been waiting for the OS upgrade for quite a few months now. Since this is Google’s latest version of their mobile OS for smartphone, it’s only too natural for users to long for an encounter with the OS under the HTC Sense skin.
