Taking the opportunity of Mobilize 2011 in the United States, T-Mobile introduced two new handsets, the HTC Amaze 4G and the Samsung Galaxy S II. The Amaze will be available exclusively through T-Mobile while the Galaxy S II is already released by AT&T and Sprint.

The HTC Amaze offers certain attractive camera features like SmartShot, PerfectPics, BurstShot and more thanks to its 8MP camera. The SmartShot feature enables users to capture five photos and create the best shot by itself while PerfectPics is a tool to fashion better albums. The handset is embedded with the Android 2.3.4 operating system, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 1.5 GHz dual core processor, and the HTC Sense to run its operations.

“These new products unlock the full potential of our faster 4G network and deliver the best experience yet for watching video, surfing the Web, and creating and sharing content on the go,” explained Cole Brodman, chief marketing officer, T-Mobile USA. “A 4G connection delivers a much improved experience, which entices consumers to do more with the devices they carry. We’ve seen that first hand; customers with 4G devices on our network consume roughly three times as much data compared as those with 3G devices. Smartphone buyers are increasingly looking for built-in 4G capability, and we’re offering what we believe is the best 4G product portfolio in the industry.”

While competitors renamed it with titles like Epic and Attain, T-Mobile has probably decided to stick to the original while presenting its version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. Considering the operating system, this device takes just half a step further with the Android 2.3.5 while sporting the same Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 1.5 GHz dual core processor. Other than its speed, T-Mobile also highlights the 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen as the largest in its collection.

The HTC Amaze by T-Mobile is priced at $259.99 while the Samsung Galaxy S II will be available $229.99, both after a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year service agreement. Both these devices can be pre-ordered through the T-Mobile website starting October 10 and will hit retail stores by October 12.
