iPhone 5 Media EventFinally it’s official. Apple has issued invitations for a special iPhone media event to be held on October 4, Tuesday. The event is scheduled to happen at Apple’s Town Hall auditorium at its headquarters in Cupertino, California. The invitations cite the time of the commencement at 10:00 am Pacific Time.

As per MacRumors, the invitations carry an interesting tagline, ‘Let’s talk iPhone.’ The iOS icons for Calendar, Clock, Maps and Phone have been designed on the invitation. To be hosted by the new Apple CEO, Tim Cook, the company is most likely to unveil the highly anticipated iPhone 5. However the media event could also be held to announce the iPhone 4S. In fact speculation is rife that Apple, known to spring surprises and keep high secrecy, may very well introduce both the smartphones on October 4.

Apparently another highlight of this event could include a small update to its iPod series. It is also being suggested that talks regarding iOS 5 and iCloud could feature as a major part of the event. The event may in all probability also see the launch of the iPad app by Facebook. This iPhone media event will be Apple’s first one since June 2010 when it had introduced the iPhone 4.

The much awaited fifth generation iPhone is said to pack in features including and 8MP camera, 1GB RAM and a larger screen compared to the iPhone 4.
