Beacon Universal Remote Control System For Android

Griffin Technology and Dijit Media recently launched the Griffin Beacon universal remote control system for Android. With this peripheral, users will be able to easily control their TV or stereo system through an Android mobile phone or tablet.

The wireless AV controller works by pairing to Android devices via Bluetooth and operates in sync with Dijit’s Universal Remote app to enable full control over most components of the home entertainment system directly from the Android handset or tablet. Powered by four AA batteries, users can set up this device in a quick and easy manner without the hassle of getting tangled up in wires, cables or heavy cases.

“Android now has a huge following, and we are really excited about bringing our remote control and TV show listings app to the Android Market. Our mission is to create the greatest ‘second screen’ entertainment platform, and Android compatibility brings us one step closer to helping millions of people get a little bit more out of their TV experience,” stated Maksim Ioffe, Founder and CEO of Dijit Media.

The remote control system converts Bluetooth signals from smartphones and tablets into infrared radiations that can control various consumer electronics devices. It lets users gain complete control over TVs, DVRs, stereos and other home entertainment devices with the convenience and flexibility of a touchscreen interface. Since the smartphone or tablet acts as the remote, wielders may not have to worry about safeguarding several remotes for different gadgets. It is compatible with devices running on Android 2.3.3 or higher.

The Griffin Beacon universal remote control system for Android is now available online at store.griffintechnology.com/beacon-android at a price of $69.99.
