According to recent official developments, Google Music, eBookstore and Android Market will now become a part of the new Google Play. This service will enable the integration of several features offered by the company across various devices. The new cloud-based release by the Mountain View folks will not only act as a market for users, but also as their storage space across a plethora of gadgets.

Logged in users can start by sharing up to 20,000 songs for free. They can download their favorite music or rent movies and videos as well. Apart from over 450,000 Android applications and games, even a wide selection of eBooks will be made available. The respective categories will now be known as Google Play Movies, Google Play Books and Google Play Music apps.

“Entertainment is supposed to be fun. But in reality, getting everything to work can be the exact opposite—moving files between your computers, endless syncing across your devices, and wires…lots of wires. Today we’re eliminating all that hassle with Google Play, a digital entertainment destination where you can find, enjoy and share your favorite music, movies, books and apps on the web and on your Android phone or tablet. Google Play is entirely cloud-based so all your music, movies, books and apps are stored online, always available to you, and you never have to worry about losing them or moving them again,” shared Jamie Rosenberg, Director of Digital Content, through the official Google Mobile blog.

Content downloaded from the aforementioned sources will be accessible to customers on any device they sign in to. The service will also feature a ‘7 Days to Play’ category, wherein popular options from sections like music, apps, games and so on will be made available at a discounted rate for a period of seven days.

Starting today, Google Play services are expected to gradually roll out in several countries across the world.
