The Roccat Power-Grid is the latest addition to the world of PC gaming from the Hamburg based company. Expected to be released soon, the app should prove useful for enabling potential users to control their PC and games via their smartphones.
The new software will comprise of four ready grids. Three of these will be pre-loaded with a few significant gaming tools, while the fourth one can be customized by users as per their requirements. The Incoming Center grid is designed to direct all voice as well as text messages from services like Skype, Facebook, Twitter and others in an organized display. Furthermore, the Stats Control grid should let gamers access essential PC data like CPU status, network traffic, and other such details through the handheld device.
“Some gaming companies claim PC gaming is sick and needs help,” says René Korte, Roccat Founder and CEO. “We at Roccat have never thought that. We know PC gaming is alive and well. It just needs to keep evolving. Power-Grid represents that natural evolution. Why? Because it makes possible the dream of millions of gamers – to stay fully absorbed in the game no matter what happens in the real world. It works with every PC, makes expensive touch-display gaming devices obsolete, and is completely free to get started. Is PC gaming sick? Hardly. Is it dead? Of course not. It’s evolving and getting a hell of a lot better.”
On the other hand, the Sound Control grid facilitates users to configure audio settings for games and Skype as well. Roccat will also release a Power-Grid Launcher to accompany this application. The software can be used for synchronizing the smartphone and PC. It will also feature an editor, which will let gaming enthusiasts create custom icons and blocks.
The Roccat Power-Grid will debut at the CeBIT this year. The Android version of the software will be launched at the gamescom 2012.
