If reports doing rounds on the web are to be believed and we’re to play along with the moniker, the Google Nexus 7 will be a 7-inch tablet running the impending Jelly Bean OS. With the Google I/O event just around the corner, it’s almost clear that the device in question will be unveiled there.

As some of us may already know, the gadget is tailored by Asus with a 1.3GHz quad core Tegra 3 processor onboard. The chipset will be further accentuated with the GeForce 12-core GPU for proffering improved gaming experiences. With 1GB RAM onboard, the tablet will ship in 2 memory variants of 8GB and 16GB.

The to-be-released slate is touted to offer NFC capabilities with apps like Google Wallet and Android Beam for transferring content between 2 compatible devices. It is likely to feature an IPS display with a 178-degree wide viewing angle rendering visuals in resolutions of 1280 × 800p. The front panel will show off a miniature 1.2MP snapper for video conferencing. The hidden powerhouse sitting within the chassis is expected to offer 9 hours of battery life.

All these specifications have arrived ahead of the event in question, courtesy of a leaked document found by Gizmodo Australia. Though it’s almost clear that the rumored tablet will operate on the Jelly Bean OS, the version has not been disclosed on the sheet. It’s most likely to be Android 4.1, going by earlier reports.

The slab’s price details have also been divulged in the document. The 8GB Google Nexus 7 price is marked at $199, while the 16GB version costs $249. It is slated to reach Australia sometime in July.
