Gionee GPad G3 is affordable at under Rs 10K, but yet quite powerful

Gionee’s third GPad phablet the G3 has showed up in India unannounced and it’s also available for purchase. The device is retailing for below Rs 10,000 and it packs a good deal of specifications such as a quad core processor, Android Jelly Bean 4.2 and a large display.

By the looks of things, you’re likely to receive a complete stock Android experience or vanilla as known otherwise. Also, there’s no mentione on whether the phablet will arrive preloaded with exclusive applications from the company. The GPad G3 is quite similar to the Optima Smart OPS 80Q which retails for around the same amount, where specifications are concerned. The device in question, however, has a 5.5-inch touchscreen, while the latter sports a 5-inch panel.

The GPad G3’s display proffers FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution which is a downgrade from its predecessors. Apart from this, the rear camera has also been lower to 5MP from 8MP, while the battery capacity is now 2250mAh from the 3000mAh capacity found on the original device. Delivering the steam here is a MediaTek MT6589 chipset which is based on a quad core 1.2GHz Cortex A7 processor and PowerVR SGX544 graphics.

The GPad G3 is 9.6mm thick which is acceptable and it comes with dual SIM slots, both supporting GSM networks. There’s a VGA camera on the front for video calling, while connectivity is delivered through Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, 3G and Wi-FI 802.11 b/g/n. The onboard storage is listed as 4GB and you can throw in additional memory of up to 32GB via the microSD card slot. You also get an entire gigabyte of RAM.

The Gionee GPad G3 is currently available for purchase in India through Snapdeal for Rs 9,699 making it one of the most affordable phablets in the market.
