Xiaomi set to launch four new smartphones this year: Product roadmap leaked

The Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone which is the company’s upcoming flagship phone has been making headlines for a few weeks now, but it isn’t the only device the Chinese giant is working on. A new leak has surfaced stating that there are at least 3 more handsets in development, two being part of the Redmi Note 2 series and one being a variant of the Mi 4.

Xiaomi recently launched the Mi 4i smartphone which is a cheaper version of the Mi 4. So what exactly is the Mi 4s? Well, it could be the same as the first phone, but designed for specific markets. What’s interesting is that the leaked information mentions OIS for the main camera, but this isn’t present on the current version.

GSMArena is reporting based on details leaked by Chinese website Mobile-dad that the Redmi Note 2 will come in two models. The base option will have a 5.5-inch HD display, a 13MP main camera, a 5MP front snapper and a Snapdragon 410 quad core 64-bit processor. There will also be a Redmi Note 2 Pro model that will have the same cameras, but a 1080p display and an octa core Snapdragon 615 chipset.

Last on the list is the Mi 5 which we already know quite a lot about, or do we? Previous leaks revealed that the phone will have a 5.2-inch QHD display which is exactly what the new information has to say. However, components such as the Snapdragon 810 chipset and 16MP main camera aren’t the same as what is disclosed on the roadmap.

There’s a good chance that the flagship phone will have the Snapdragon 820 SOC and a 20.2MP main camera instead. Other features from previous reports include 3GB or 4GB RAM and a 3000mAh battery. Additionally, the Mi 5 Plus device which is said to be a 6-inch phablet hasn’t been mentioned on the list.

The Xiaomi Mi 4s phone is said to arrive in June, while the Redmi Note 2 and Note 2 Pro will go official the following month. As for the Mi 5, it’ll be a wait till November to see the company’s next flagship.
