First weekend sales of iPhone 4S reaches 4 million

Not many may have been surprised when Apple announced the first weekend sales of the all new iPhone 4S to reach 4 million units. We have come to expect that from the Cupertino company’s idevices. After its launch on October 14, within three days this sales figure was achieved.

Besides, over 25 million users are reaping benefits of the iOS 5 while iCloud gets about 20 million members. For reasons good or bad, Siri has been catching attention of many.

“iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.”

Currently available in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the UK, the iPhone 4S will hit 22 more countries on October 28. It will go globe trekking to 70 more countries by the end of the year.

The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPhone 4S models drenched in black or white can be grabbed in the US for a price of $199, $299 and $399 respectively. It can be grabbed online through Apple stores and also retail stores along with AT&T, Sprint,Verizon Wireless, and select Best Buy, Target and Walmart stores.
