A completely revamped 3.0 version of the Facebook application is now accessible for iPhone users. This new version is packed with several advanced features and can be acquired via the iTunes App Store, states Slashgear. These added features have made the application quite interactive as compared to its earlier version.
The application will open on news feed and there will be a small icon on the upper left corner. This icon will assist users to organize all the features. Via a simple click, the app will pop up a screen with a search bar on top. A notification alert area on the bottom and a grid of nine activities for users to perform will also appear on the screen. These activities comprise of news feed, profile details of users, message in-box, Facebook chat, friend requests, events, photo albums and notes.
Other added functionalities are the ability to view events and submit an RSVP through the phone. Users can also view birthdays of friends as well as upload photos to any album. They can also zoom into photos along with the ability to create and delete albums.
Using the Facebook interface, photos can be uploaded in addition to deleting them and adding a photo tag. A new profile picture can also be uploaded. This new version allows users to call or text friends from the interface and gives social connectivity a new meaning. They can also easily locate a friend from within a page using the page with search. Apart from viewing the page passively, users can subscribe to pages from the handset.
Another exciting add-on is the built-in Web Browser which is very useful and practical. There is no need to click on the link of the app, open a Safari browser and restart Facebook with this new integration.
Some more features are expected to be added to the 3.0 version of the Facebook application soon.
