Sirius XM SkyDock Music enthusiasts will be glad to notice a satellite radio which can be controlled by the iPhone. The latest innovation from Sirius XM Radio dubbed XM SkyDock explores the capabilities of iPhone OS 3.0.

The SkyDock is compatible with the iPod Touch (1st generation), iPod Touch (2nd generation), iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. The device features a built-in XM tuner which is managed by a free app that can be downloaded from the App Store. Further, the Sirius XM model allows users to charge their Apple devices while they are listening to live satellite radio.

“XM SkyDock will allow millions of users to add live Sirius XM Radio capability to their iPod touch or iPhone while in their vehicle. XM SkyDock makes their favorite programming from XM and ‘The Best of Sirius’ available to iPod touch and iPhone users anywhere they drive, coast to coast,” mentioned Bob Law, Group Vice President and General Manager, After Market Division, Sirius XM Radio.

Users can now enjoy listening to their favorite sports, talks, news, entertainment and commercial-free music programming such as Oprah Radio, MLB Home Plate, the PGA TOUR Network, Opie & Anthony, Bob Edwards, Jamie Foxx and Blue Collar Comedy. They can also listen to the comprehensive ‘Best of Sirius’ package, featuring Howard Stern and his two 24/7 channels, Martha Stewart Living Radio, Sirius Nascar Radio, sports play-by-play and the Playboy Radio channel.

Subscribers can also tag their favorite songs on XM’s music channels and purchase them later from the iTunes Store. It also incorporates game alerts, sports ticker, stock ticker, artist and song alerts. The SkyDock along with the Sirius XM Premium Online App facilitates iPhone users to receive Sirius XM’s Premium Internet service on their Apple devices, while on the move.

Employing the PowerConnect technology, it simplifies vehicle installation process. Users can now easily move the radio from one vehicle to another. The dock is inclusive of an aux-in cable that permits aux-in connections, in vehicles with aux-in capability. The flexible stalk of the device optimizes the positioning of the iPhone in the vehicle. Magnetic Mount antenna and spacers are few of the accessories incorporated.

The Sirius SkyDock will be retailed for $119.99 on XM Radio’s official site, by fall 2009.
