Facebook for BlackBerry v2.0 makes its fourth release

Facebook Beta 4 Blackberry constantly dishes out updates to offer new features to members of Facebook. The recently released Facebook for BlackBerry v2.0 (beta 4) attempts to bring something new to the table for Facebook members, reveals the BlackBerry blog.

It started off by introducing Facebook Chat and a brand-new interface through the Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones v2.0 beta release. Then it went on to launch the v2.0 beta refresh which bought in more features and support for BlackBerry Device Software 5.0. This was followed by the v2.0 beta 3 release which had features such as ability to delete comments and posts, Wi-Fi support and a new prompt which appeared before the deletion of messages.

The notifications feature in this fourth beta release has been upgraded. Users will now also be notified for likes and event wall posts. To make it more detailed, it lets users know what was liked by others. Notifications that aren’t delivered through BlackBerry push technology, called polled items, can also be seen by users through this version.

The new release provides touchscreen device users with a new touch toolbar. Via this toolbar, they can gain easy access to Compose, Reply and Delete icons which are situated along the bottom of the screen and thus save time. This version is endowed with extra messaging options from the friends list and the ‘More’ button within a profile.

Sending News Feed items to messaging applications email, SMS, BBM and Twitter is possible by virtue of the deep integration of Facebook with core BlackBerry applications. BlackBerry Beta Zone members can download the Facebook for BlackBerry v2.0 (beta 4). Also only those living in any of the BlackBerry Beta Zone supported countries can do so.
