HTC Status for AT&T disclosed via Facebook

AT&T HTC Status Mobile devices are trying their best to cash in on the worldwide mania surrounding Facebook. Previously named HTC ChaCha, the newly launched phone from HTC has been rechristened as HTC Status for AT&T and attempts to give an extra boost to this mania.

The company announced the phone and its features on a Facebook fan page, probably keeping in mind the phone’s extra features specially designed for this networking site. It claims to be the first phone embedded with a Facebook share button by which members can share chats, sites, songs, check-ins and videos with their friends.

Jason Mackenzie, President, HTC Americas commented, “HTC Status brings a Facebook experience to people who want to share their experiences with their friends faster and easier than ever before. With a dedicated Facebook share button combined with the hallmark HTC Sense experience, HTC Status makes it easy for people to stay connected to the things that are important to them.”

The latest phone has a 1.3 MP front-facing camera and the 5MP main camera comes with the auto focus function. This QWERTY keypad device, with a special focus on Facebook, runs on an 800MHz processor and has a 2.6-inch touchscreen display. With a press of the Facebook button, users can share their content eliminating the task of fumbling through menus.

Information regarding the price and availability of the HTC Status for AT&T has not yet been released.
