Ericsson announced IPX for the Indian consumers

Ericsson Logo Ericsson has announced to provide its global Internet Payment Exchange (IPX) payment and messaging service. This service will be provided to 8 network operators across India.

Thus, due to this IPX service, content providers from India as well as abroad will be able to reach approximately 202 million subscribers across India.

Ericsson’s Internet Payment Exchange makes easy the payment and the distribution of mobile content while seamlessly interconnecting content providers and mobile operators.

IPX, with the help of existing billing relationships with the operators and the customers manages the payments.

The 8 networks which are going to offer the services within the coming months includes Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Bharat Sanchar Nigam, Vodafone Essar, Aircel, MTNL Delhi, TATA Teleservices and Idea Cellular.

As Mats Granryd, Managing Director, Ericsson India, mention, “We are happy that these networks have added Ericsson IPX services to their offering and will be joining Ericsson’s global network of IPX-enabled mobile operators.”

He added, “This is an important step in bringing a true global payment solution to India where operators and content providers can fully benefit from the reach of Ericsson.”

Now on using Ericsson IPX, consumers will be able to securely purchase mobile multimedia content such as music, games, wallpapers and ringtones from mobile content companies.

The user’s payments will be handled safe and the process between mobile phone user, content provider and network operator will provide mobile phone users with a high level of payment assurance.

Global IPX also offers TV channels and broadcast media, newspapers, large corporations, and content and application providers.
