Dropbox develops cuteBox Qt app for Nokia phones

CuteBox Qt App Nokia Conversations has disclosed the new Qt app for Nokia phones entitled cuteBox by Dropbox. It is a cloud based application. Users are enabled to easily switch between apps even when it is open as well as download and upload at a faster rate.

Since the app is written in Qt, transition between windows becomes quite smooth and convenient. The company claims that the network throughput is speedy on both 3G and Wi-Fi. Users are allowed to add a new file from their phones to the dropbox by clicking the + button. A window then pops up asking users whether they want to upload a new folder, audio clip, picture, video or local file.

Another function this app enables is to share files. All folders and files in the Public folder have a public URL for those with or without a Dropbox account to access them with ease. If users wish to share a picture or file from their Nokia N8 with other handsets, via this app they can share the file’s URL through SMS and email or merely attach it to the N8′s clipboard for using in any other app.

When users load this app they will be able to see the top level of their Dropbox directory on pressing which, they can access their respective folder and view the directories content listings. Other buttons enable adding a new file and downloading several files simultaneously. Also a button which appears like two papers are placed upon one another performs functions such as move, copy and delete.

Nokia users can download the cuteBox app from the Ovi Store for free.
