ATF app released for Android and Windows Phone 7 version, updated for iPhone

ATF iPhone App The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), has launched the new ATF mobile application for Android and Windows Phone 7 devices. It has also put forth an updated version of the already existing app for iPhones.

The updated iOS app has been developed by the ATF with the aid of NIC. With this application, iOS users can obtain data about firearms, their nomenclature and categories. Also, with the new application available for Windows Phone 7 and Android handsets, users will be able to access information about ATF history and areas of expertise, find their local ATF field office and sign up for e-mail updates on the latest ATF-related news.

“ATF is committed to making its mobile presence one that proves both educational to the general public and useful to our industry and law enforcement partners,” said Scot Thomasson, chief of ATF Public Affairs Division. “The iOS update along with the Android and Windows Phone 7 versions are important steps toward that goal.”

The ATF app version 1.12 for iPhone users can now be downloaded from iTunes. Also, the new application for Android devices is now available in the Android Market and that for Windows Phone 7 at the Windows Phone 7 marketplace.
