Domo Slate X14 is a sub-5K educational tablet for students

The Domo Slate X14 appears to have been crafted to give tough competition to the Akash series of slates as the former wishes to assist the student brigade at highly attractive prices. iBall’s Edu-Slide is another educational tab that has recently been unveiled and what sets it apart from the one in question is that the former has been loaded with notes for IIT-JEE aspirants.

The front side of the Domo gadget is mainly dominated by a 7-inch 5-point capacitive multi-touch display as well as a 2MP camera for facilitating face-to-face conferencing over Wi-Fi or 3G. While it supports Wi-Fi out of the box, the device requires an external USB dongle to run on 3G network speeds. We are expecting it to be capable of allowing access to the Google Play store as it operates with the help of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 platform.

Interested users will find that a Cortex A8 processor ticking at 1GHz rests snugly under the hood along with the Mali 400 GPU for enhanced graphics and a polymer battery for a relatively long power life. Loaded with Adobe Flash, the Domo Slate packed into a sleek chassis extends support to 1080p videos as well.

And if that’s not enough, the tablet is complete with essential components like a microphone, an earphone and speakers amongst others. A micro USB port has been carved into the chassis and so is an expansion slot for inserting a microSD card of not more than 32GB capacity, because its 4GB internal memory may prove to be inadequate.

The Domo Slate X14 is now available through online retailers for a price of Rs 4,990 with a 6 month-warranty.
