DesktopDirect app for Android by Array Networks unveiled in India

DesktopDirect App Array Networks recently launched their new app, DesktopDirect, for Android tablets and smartphones. It enables full remote desktop access and claims to empower employees by providing them access to their physical and virtual work desktops through their Android devices without the risk of data leakage.

This app offers solutions to two main enterprise challenges namely, enabling availability to remote applications for employees and securing important data. Accessing office desktop environments and desktop applications from anywhere conveniently is made possible through this app. Problems regarding Windows compatibility and security compliance are eliminated and since the app doesn’t allow corporate data to leak, it’s almost impossible for malware to infect business applications.

“Array previously introduced its secure enterprise remote desktop access for iPhones and iPads today we are pleased to offer this same capability from Android devices. Android tablets and smart phones are on the rise, having already proven themselves as user-friendly computing platforms. With DesktopDirect, businesses can securely and cost-effectively provide employees that own these devices with a means to enhance their business productivity whether on campus or outside of the office,” stated Michael Zhao, President and CEO of Array Networks.

Even if the Android device gets lost or is stolen, the app prevents data from leaking. Users are allowed to employ their office PCs with tablet interfaces via a novel, finger-operated mouse developed specially for DesktopDirect to go with the virtual Android keyboard. It enables secure access to office or virtual desktops from any Android device and thus employees can even work on days when they haven’t gone to office.

The DesktopDirect app can be downloaded from the Android Market for free.
