Meeting the most demanding entertainment needs of users, US Cellular joined hands with MobiTV to power their new mobile TV service. Comprising a wide variety of channels, the company has launched an application which is currently compatible with two Android smartphones namely the HTC Desire and Samsung Mesmerize.

The US Cellular mobile TV service features the next generation platform from MobiTV and now comes with the ability to download and store shows on the device with the high-speed data network provided from US Cellular. The service includes live channels like ESPN Mobile TV, FOX News, MSNBC, CNBC, Disney Channel, and on demand shows from MTV, Comedy Central, NBC, ABC Mobile, CBS, Nickelodeon, ESPN and Bravo.

Additionally, U.S. Cellular Mobile TV will operate on our high-speed nationwide network so users can access information quickly and enjoy everything their cell phone has to offer, commented Joe Settimi, Senior Director of Data Strategy and Services for U.S. Cellular.

With the new version of MobiTV, navigation throughout the interface is made easier and further creates a personalized experience. For an additional fee, users can obtain premium packs including Spanish speaking and children’s programming packages. Also, besides US cellular other carriers like Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T have already launched their mobile TV services from the company.

The MobiTV-powered US Cellular mobile TV service is available on the HTC Desire and Samsung Mesmerize smartphones for a price of $9.99 (approx. Rs.442) per month.
