Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) has taken a step towards making public transport in the capital of India a little less troublesome with a new application called Delhi Transit Bus Info. It will be available for all Android-based phones and can be downloaded either from the Google Play store or the official website.
While owners of Android devices can install the app on their phones for information regarding the public transport, others have the option of heading over to the web portal for the same. Users can check the arrival times of various buses and even take a look at the routes that different vehicles take. Bus stop locations can also be obtained through the application in question in a matter of seconds.
Schedules of buses are available on the utility and the website. Additionally, it consists of a trip planner that provides details about all the routes that a person can take between two different locations. Although the service currently covers only orange buses or cluster buses, the planner feature offers details about DTC buses as well.
Those who log into the DIMTS website for information, need to click on the ‘bus information for orange-colored Delhi transit bus’ tab and they will be presented with the required information. Currently, the beta version of the application has gone live and soon it will be updated with details regarding DTC buses as well.
The Delhi Transit Bus Info app which is now available for Android smartphones and tablets, will soon be released for gadgets running on other mobile platforms such as iOS, BlackBerry and Symbian too.
