BlackBerry Q10 release date in India set for this May

There isn’t a concrete BlackBerry Q10 release date in India that can be put forth at the moment, but we can confirm that the handset should be making its way into markets within the country during the fourth week of May. Price details of this product however remain unavailable, even though it has landed on Snapdeal with a pre-order tag. Interested parties are in for some disappointment, as it seems that all available units with the e-retailer have been snapped up already.

Earlier today, Snapdeal announced that it is taking pre-orders for the upcoming BlackBerry Q10. Customers were able to book by paying Rs. 1,000 upfront, but that was a few hours ago, as a ‘Sold Out’ is now resting besides its name. No other e-retailer has started listing this new phone as of now. Unveiled for the first time on January 30 at the launch of the BB 10 platform, it has already made its way to the UK as well as Canada, and will be hitting the US later this month.

The smartphone carries on it the latest version of the BB 10 OS (v10.1), giving it a number of added features and improvements that aren’t present on the Z10. Bearing an appearance that resembles classic BB devices, this handset features softly rounded edges on its 119.6mm x 66.8mm x 10.4mm frame. Unlike the Z10 however, it kicks in a QWERTY keyboard alongside its touchscreen. This display is a 3.1-inch one which throws its visuals out with a resolution of 720 by 720 pixels.

Its graphical performance on the other hand, is handled by a PowerVR SGX544 GPU.

An 8MP camera makes its way onto the phone’s rear complete with an LED flash, HD video recording capabilities, geo-tagging, image stabilization and face detection.
