BlackBerry expects you to pay Rs 39,990 for the Z30

If there one thing we’re not quite fond of, it’s definitely the pricing strategy implemented by BlackBerry for most of its devices. For example, the recently launched Z30 will retail in India for Rs 39,990 carrying mid-range specifications. For around the same amount, you can pick up the Xperia Z1 and the LG G2 which have monster hardware.

With the Z30, BlackBerry takes things to the next level in its lineup. The smartphone stands 5 inches tall and it features a full touch form factor with a 720p Super AMOLED HD panel for visuals and navigation. The company has deployed this handset with the BB10.2 OS that has now started to roll out to other BB10 smartphones.

The device is the first in the series to come with a Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset. The dual core CPU is clocked at 1.7GHz and is accompanied by Adreno 320 graphics. The innards to comprise of 2GB RAM and 16GB storage which can be extended to an additional 64GB via the microSD card slot. A 2880mAh battery is present touting 18 hours of talktime or 16 days of standby on 3G HSPA+.

The company has fitted an 8MP camera on the rear with a BSI sensor for better low-light images, while a 2MP webcam sits pretty on the front. Other features of the Z30 include Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, GLONASS and 4G LTE.

The BlackBerry Z30 is yet to go on sale in India and the company has noted that it should it stores sometime next week. But don’t you think Rs 39,990 is a bit too much for the smartphone?
