BlackBerry Smartphones Launch Event

The BlackBerry Bold 9790, Curve 9380, and Curve 9350 are the latest smartphones by RIM to be unfurled in India. All these handsets function on the BlackBerry 7 OS and will be made available in the country by the first week of December.

The 9380 marks the debut of a full touch display device in the Curve line-up by RIM, while the 9350 is the first CDMA based BB 7 handset in India. The Bold 9790 is equipped with a QWERTY handset, which is also supported by a touch display. Depending on the region and availability, all these smartphones are expected to be pre-loaded with BlackBerry Protect.

“We are pleased with the response that the new BlackBerry 7 operating system is receiving from customers in India and we are very excited to introduce these three new BlackBerry 7 based models here,” conveyed Krishnadeep Baruah, Director of Marketing for India at RIM. “These new BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Curve smartphones offer compact designs with faster performance, enhanced browsing and richer multimedia, as well as NFC support.”

New BlackBerry Phones

A look at the tech specs of the Bold 9790 divulge a 1GHz processor and 8GB of ROM, along with external memory which is expandable up to 32GB. The Curve 9350 flaunts a physical keypad on the front and is dotted by a 5MP camera with flash on the rear. The Curve 9380 features a 3.2-inch display, and is pre-installed with BBM, Social Feeds as well as other social networking applications. This one is also embedded with a 5MP camera on the back panel.

The BlackBerry Bold 9790 price in India is revealed to be Rs. 27,490, while the BlackBerry Curve 9350 and the Curve 9380 are priced at Rs. 20,990 each.
