While we’re amidst a range of phones sliding over to the ICS upgrade, the AT&T LG Thrill 4G Gingerbread update rings rather noticeably. For users of the device, it should mean a better interface and other improved functions.

It was just last year that the handset tripped to the carrier after reported delays. As far as the specifications go, the smartphone operates on a 1GHz dual core and dual channel processor. Carrying 512MB RAM, the offering supports 16GB user memory that is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card available separately.

In terms of the display, the device sports a 4.3-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen proffering 800 × 480p resolutions. It is also designed to provide a convenient 3D encounter, free of glasses. Photography enthusiasts can settle for the dual 5MP stereoscopic camera supporting 3D video and image capture. It also allows for 720p 3D video recording and 1080p 2D HD shooting. Additionally, there’s a front-facing sensor for Wi-Fi video chatting in place.

The upgrade was declared by means of an announcement made on LG Facebook. As reported on MobileBurn, the refresh arrives along with an array of tweaks related to the handset’s software. It will now incorporate improved copy and paste functions along with 3D feature additions. In order to get started with the new OS, owners of the Thrill have to access the company’s software for installing the update.

With the AT&T LG Thrill 4G just getting a taste of Gingerbread, the ICS update is probably out of the question presently.
