Asus Vivo Tab and Vivo Tab RT go Windows 8

Asus Windows 8 Tablet

Adding to the various Windows 8 tablets having been unveiled at the IFA 2012 event in Berlin are the Asus Vivo Tab and Vivo Tab RT slates. In compliance with the offerings of Microsoft’s upcoming OS, both these devices have been equipped with dual-purpose designs that grant them multi-touch displays as well as detachable QWERTY keyboard docks.

The ASUS Vivo Tab carries a 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution, and makes use of the Super IPS+ technology. It features a 10-point multi-touch attribute which is accompanied by the Wacom digitiser stylus technology for better stylus input. Running on an Intel Atom processor, it kicks in 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Its sound is delivered by the SonicMaster technology and its imaging options include an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash as well as a 2MP front-facing snapper.

Asus Vivo Tab RT

The Vivo Tab RT is slightly lower-sized with a 10.1inch display which boasts of 1366 x 768 resolution and the Super IPS+ technology. It features an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, a 12-core GPU along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Just like Vivo Tab, the Vivo RT too will be complemented by a mobile dock which will offer a QWERTY keyboard, a track pad, a USB port and its own built-in battery. NFC sensors form part of both these devices as well.

No word is out yet about the Asus Vivo Tab and Vivo Tab RT price and release date information.
