The Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor running Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime will hit UK stores in January, states Pocket-lint. As an added advantage, the tablet will also be accompanied by its dock, contrary to what was earlier fathomed.

Moreover, the release plans are not inclusive of the 3G variant, so users have to look forward to the Wi-Fi enabled device only. This slate functions on Android 3.2 but can be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich. As for the display specs, the gadget sports a 10.1 inch screen which is enhanced by the Super IPS+ panel that’s constructed from Corning Gorilla Glass with 178-degree viewing angle.

Swift performance through a battery offering nearly 12 hours per day, is what the company boasts of. Music enthusiasts will be satisfied with the in-built music system driven by the SonicMaster technology.

What’s more, the slab arrives with 32GB storage capacity and a slot for microHDMI and microSD cards as well. An 8MP rear auto-focus camera supported at the back panel will enable photography buffs to capture precious moments. There’s also one 1.2MP transfixed at the front for video conferencing.

Apparently, the company’s earlier claims that they will sell the dock separately are not what they are planning to hold on to. One reason for this could be the sales of the initial laptop dock formulated for the original Asus Eee Pad Transformer launched in early 2011.

This tablet will stick on to the champagne gold and amethyst gray hues for the tablet in the UK too. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime price is tagged at £499 and will be up for sale from January across shops in the UK.
