Asus Communicator P565 in the making?

ASUS Communicator P565Asus recently displayed its new Communicator P565 at a Microsoft Windows Mobile (WM) 6.1 event held in Taiwan. The phone is supposedly quite different from the P522w that was released by Asus earlier this month.

The Asus Communicator P565 is apparently a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional-powered smartphone and should come with some basic support GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900 MHz, UMTS / HSDPA 2100 MHz (3.6 Mbps). Packed with a Marvell Tavor 800MHz processor, the device will have a 2.8 inch LCD display at 480 x 640 resolution.

Boasting of a 3 megapixel camera, other features of the Asus Communicator P565 include 56MB ROM, 128MB RAM, microSD memory card slot, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR connectivity, Wi-Fi connectivity and SiRF Star III GPS chipset. The smartphone should additionally be integrated with Asus’s own Glide custom user interface.

No pricing details are out yet. Asus is tightlipped about this communicator and has not given any confirmation even about the features of this smartphone. So we guess we should be waiting for the official announcement of the Asus Communicator P565 before it gets lost in the swarming crowd of smartphones.
