In a bid to help students and learners through their educational phases, the Apple iTunes U app for the iPhone and iPad has been announced by the company. The latest initiative is meant to facilitate entire courses through the portable iDevices.

With the introduction of this app, teachers and educators can create course components like syllabuses, lectures, questions or quizzes, assignments, and more. Earlier, students were only able to access content from major universities to enhance their learning process which was in sync with the syllabus. However, with this app, they will be able to get their hands on all relevant material readily on the Apple handheld gadgets.

“The all-new iTunes U app enables students anywhere to tap into entire courses from the world’s most prestigious universities,” commented Eddy Cue, senior vice president of Internet Software and Services for Apple. “Never before have educators been able to offer their full courses in such an innovative way, allowing anyone who’s interested in a particular topic to learn from anywhere in the world, not just the classroom.”
