Unveiled at the recently concluded CES 2012 in Las Vegas, the Verizon LG Spectrum has now commenced retailing. It will be operating on the carrier’s 4G LTE network which is said to deliver faster multitasking and downloading along with a more powerful performance.

Although the LG mobile device currently runs on the Android 2.3 OS, it is scheduled to receive the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update soon. The latest offering comes embedded with a 4.5-inch 1280 x 720p 500nit luminance True HD IPS touchscreen display that uses Real Stripe sub-pixel arrangement which makes the images appear clearer sans any blurring or distortion. This Bluetooth 3.0 enabled smartphone is capable of serving as a Mobile Hotspot to share the 4G LTE connection with up to ten Wi-Fi-activated devices simultaneously.

Users can perform web chats with the integrated 1.3MP front facing camera and take pictures or videos in 1080p thanks to the 8MP main camera featuring autofocus and LED flash. They are also allowed to create and edit HD videos using the pre-installed SmartMovie HD app. Powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm dual core processor, it comes preloaded with a 16GB microSD card which can be expanded up to 32GB. Moreover, the featured ESPN ScoreCenter app could appeal to sports lovers as it gives them easy access to updates instantly.

The Verizon LG Spectrum 4G LTE smartphone price reads at $200 and comes along with a new two-year customer agreement. The offering can be picked up from the company’s stores as well as online at verizonwireless.com.
