Angry Birds to get new companion?

Angry Birds

With almost anyone and everyone owning a smartphone getting addicted to Angry Birds, Rovio has apparently decided to throw in a surprise for its millions of loyalists. A forty second YouTube teaser by RovioMobile shows cute little birds discovering something new while on an adventure trail.

The video shows three blue birds embarking on a dark and stormy night through thick forests. While on their way, they spot a giant creature bobbing away in the distance and get terrifying thoughts about monsters. Suddenly a shaking barrel appears and rouses their curiosity. The video ends with three of them looking inside the barrel and keeping audiences guessing as to what they find inside it.

Speculation is rife that the barrel most probably contains a new bird which will soon be introduced in the game to join the red, yellow, blue, black and white birds in their mission to slay the pigs. It is also being suggested by many that it could also be Om Nom from the popular game Cut the Rope. This teaser seems to have aroused a lot of curiosity from game enthusiasts who feel that this could very well be an indication about a new season or version of Angry Birds.

Rovio has previously released various versions of the game including Angry Birds Magic and Rio, which was developed in collaboration with the animated 3D film of the same name. Last year the Finnish company had launched a special Halloween edition of the game in October and this video with its creepy setting has generated rumors about the same being repeated this year.

Angry Birds lovers can only wait and watch as to what surprise Rovio springs this season. Hopefully whatever the new addition is will raise the game’s quality by a notch and won’t disappoint.
