Siri on iPhone 4 not a distant dream?

iPhone 4 Siri

Siri, the intelligent new software addition to the iPhone 4S may probably be seen on the iPhone 4 as well in the near future. Initiating the first unofficial stage of this process, developer Steven Troughton-Smith along with 9to5Mac has made it happen by successfully porting Siri to the iPhone 4.

Currently available exclusively for the iPhone 4S, this service is like a personal assistant to users. It is designed to decipher voice commands and questions posed in the form of everyday conversation and intelligently respond to the same. Siri also has a set of possible questions with ready answers.

Unfortunately, Cupertino does not seem keen on authenticating commands to its servers from iPhone 4 wielders. However, porting of the utility to the iPhone 4 seems to work fine as long a users can overlook a bit of sluggishness on its part. But what it can deal with now is recognize audio commands in both the standard Siri view and the keyboard Dictation view.

However, Apple authentication is not the only glitch in this system. Another issue here is that the iPhone 4 requires a GPU driver to run this service. But Apple has not included this in the iPhone 4S binary cache where the Siri files are located.

In spite of this, our hopes are high that the iPhone 4 may soon be the next device on which we can hope to ask questions answered by Siri. Only if Apple allows it now.
