Gravity won’t have the same pull anymore as Rovio gets Angry Birds Space ready for a March launch. The company promises that this ‘one small fling for a bird, will offer one quantum leap for birdkind’ in the forthcoming game.
Considering the 20-second trailer that tells us nothing about the title, we’re probably not the only bird-catapulting enthusiasts waiting for more information about it. Rovio is calling it their biggest game launch since the original one, though the gameplay is touted to primarily offer a familiar experience.
“We’re going to announce more information in early March, and on March 22nd we will launch simultaneously in mobile gaming, animation, retail, and publishing. Not only is this a first for us as an integrated entertainment company, but the first time this has ever been done for a mobile game!” trills a post on the official Rovio blog.
There will be surprises, of course. First off, if it’s going to be set in an ‘out of this world’ sort of backdrop, gravity may not feel like the same anymore. Some special power-ups and abilities in the pipeline, perhaps? When Rovio took the game to Facebook recently, it was dressed up with several social network-focused features and exclusive levels too.
The Angry Birds Space release date is marked at March 22, 2012. Rovio has revealed plans for a simultaneous launch of the game across mobile, animation, retail and publishing platforms.
