Angry Birds Seasons Year of the Dragon shoots onto iOS, Android and Symbian

The little, irate, feathered creatures are back and this time in Chinese avatars as the country’s New Year is celebrated in the freshly released Angry Birds Seasons Year of the Dragon game. Available for Symbian, Android and iOS devices, this app was launched after game developer, Rovio Entertainment, noted the success of its earlier Angry Birds Moon Festival seasons application.

The addictive, slingshot-inspired game now features a lively red Chinese New Year theme complete with traditional elements such as fireworks, lanterns, Chinese knots and red envelopes, to name a few. An update to the Moon Festival season which had been released in September last year, this title is part of Rovio’s plan for taking over more of Asia with the Angry Birds enthusiasm.

“As Rovio’s launch partner, we are giving our full support to the Year of the Dragon update. This Year of the Dragon update has a lot of Chinese culture involved and Chinese people just love it. Rovio is our long-term strategic partner, and we look forward to a long and successful partnership with them,” commented Lili Tan, Deputy General Manager of China Mobile Internet Base.

The Eagle will actually transform into the Mighty Dragon which would be available for free to players. Fans in China can also look forward to snapping up limited-edition Year of the Dragon merchandise.
