Mobikoma module-based phone concept converts handset to tablet and vice versa

The idea of the Mobikoma module-based phone concept which allows a handset to transform into a tablet and vice versa, is most likely to gain favor among tech lovers. Envisioned by designer Kamil Izrailov, it is a device made up of many parts that can be rearranged by users in the form of a slate or a mobile phone.

The little square shaped modules attach to one another with micro locks and each of them comes with its own power supply and computing processor. Thus every piece of the puzzle is capable of functioning on its own and when joined with other modules, they all can operate as one handset or one tablet. Among these components, there are two main elements which consist of one for SIM and phone memory storage and one for the microphone.

While these two primary parts are embedded with programmed buttons, the other modules don’s feature keys. A tablet computer can be created by joining 54 elements and a normal sized handset is capable being constructed by attaching merely 18 modules, says Yanko Design. Users should also be able to develop a mini mobile phone by getting together 2 modules measuring 22mm x 44mm x 6mm. The accompanying locks can be separated by employing a pin or with the fingers. The tablet created with these elements will be capable of supporting all forms of wireless connectivity options such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

As the Mobikoma module based phone is still in the concept stage, details regarding its release date or price can hardly be expected.
